The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation plans to start a nonprofit in St. Louis.
Dubbed Gates Ag One, the organization will focus on advancing technologies to help small farms in developing countries. The nonprofit would work to help farmers in south Asia and sub-Saharan Africa raise yields.
St. Louis reportedly has one of the world's largest concentrations of plant and agricultural scientists.
