Ex-CASA director in Arkansas accused of theft

The former executive director of Court Appointed Special Advocates in Harrison, Arkansas, has been accused of stealing from the organization.

Katie Rylee, 31, allegedly stole more than $40,000 in CASA funding between April 2017 and July of this year. She's facing seven felony charges and one misdemeanor for allegedly using CASA funds for personal expenses, such as shopping and restaurants.

"It's very heartwrenching, especially to the children, because it's very important that we have this program in our community," said Chonda Tapley, board president for CASA of the 14th Judicial District.
