Electronic Contracting Company Enters Springfield Market

Electronic Contracting Company (ECCO) specializes in commercial design, installation, integration, and service in general industrial and manufacturing, primary and secondary education, healthcare, houses of worship, corrections, and corporate businesses. ECCO’s primary solutions include audio/visual, fire alarm, nurse call, video surveillance, access control, jail controls, and active shooter detection.

The company cuts a large swath through the Midwest including Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Western Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and the Dakotas, but there was an emerging and underserved market in southern Missouri. An office in Springfield was geographically the next logical step. “ECCO has been operating in the Midwest for over 60 years and had been considering entering the Springfield market for quite some time. We decided the time was right to pull the trigger,” says Habe Darr, Vice President of Operations with Electronic Contracting Company. “We saw a need and wanted to help more people incorporate technology into their lives.”

ECCO designed and installed all of the A/V in the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ Memorial Stadium, Pinnacle Bank Arena, and Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as TD Ameritrade Park, home of the College World Series. In addition to large audio/visual projects, Electronic Contracting Company serves a wide variety of clients in different verticals with projects ranging in size from $5,000 to multimillion dollar installations. “We currently provide Ascom Nurse Call for the Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri, and Springfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center here in Springfield,” adds John Cramer, a sales engineer at ECCO.

“We call ourselves a super integrator,” says Darr. “We’re able to come into a facility and do every single thing that a company requires in the way of systems like door access control, video surveillance, data, A/V, fire alarm, or nurse call. A lot of other companies are only able to do parts and pieces of each.”

Not only does the company pride itself on its expertise in various systems, but also in its ability to provide solutions that are designed to meet its clients’ unique needs. “The in-house resources that we have available to us, from our engineers to programmers who can write custom code, give us the ability to solve our customers’ problems with fully customized solutions,” says David Daehling, a sales engineer at ECCO.

Darr stresses that ECCO is a large operation and says the size of the company provides clients with extra assurance that they’re getting top quality work. “We educate our customers so they can make the right decision, and we are a phone call away for any service needs,” says Darr. “That’s a huge difference with us.”

Darr has been with ECCO for 23 years and says the company shows no signs of slowing down. “We’re in the business of solving problems and creating partnerships and improving people’s lives through technology and we are just constantly gaining steam.” The company has been in business for over 60 years and has more than 10,000 completed projects.
