Dayco Products Inc., Hiland Dairy Foods and Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company are the three finalists for the 1998 Manufacturer of the Year Award. The award is sponsored by the Industrial Council of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, said Greg Williams, of the chamber.
The Springfield Business Journal will run profiles on each of the finalists, beginning with a profile on Hiland Dairy Foods in this issue.
The Manufacturer of the Year Award is in its fourth year and will be presented at a luncheon ceremony Dec. 9 at the Holiday Inn University Plaza.
"This is our thank-you and recognition of the impact that manufacturing has on the Springfield economy. It is also an opportunity to highlight the success stories of specific Springfield-area manufacturers," Williams said.
Dayco Products has worked to steadily grow its original-equipment-market business, and price its products competitively. Its place of business is 2601 W. Battlefield.
Hiland Dairy Foods is the only locally operated dairy and is a member of the Quality Chekd Association of dairy food companies. Its place of business is 1133 E. Kearney.
Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Company produces and distributes a number of carbonated and noncarbonated beverages. Its place of business is 1777 N. Packer Road.
