Curb Appeal: 10 high-dollar homes listed last month

Posted online

A million-dollar listing on 10 gated acres in east Springfield leads the list of high-dollar homes that were marketed for sale in Springfield last month, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of single-family homes within city limits that have an asking price of $500,000 or more. High-dollar listings in Springfield declined to 10 in April, compared with 15 in March and 13 in February.

Collectively, the homes' asking prices are $6.6 million, according to the MLS data. That's down from a cumulative $13 million for residences that hit the market in March.

National Association of Realtors data does not yet reflect April sales trends across the country. The April report is scheduled for release May 21.

In March, existing home sales dropped 8.5% nationwide compared with February to a seasonally adjusted $5.3 million. However, that's still up 0.8% from March 2019, the NAR reports.

NAR officials have forecast a decrease in home sales in the coming months because of coronavirus impacts to the market.
