CoxHealth South Intensive Care Unit

Posted online
Dallas-based The Beck Group is the general contractor and architect for CoxHealth’s intensive care unit addition at its south Springfield campus. The addition will increase the number of adult critical beds to 76 from 52. Engineers for the $17 million project are CJW Transportation Consultants LLC, civil; Armstrong-Douglass Partners (Dallas), structural; and Telios PC (Dallas), mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project will add 38,000 square feet on two levels, and includes renovations of 3,000 square feet of the existing ICU. Rod Schaffer, CoxHealth vice president of facilities management, said heavy rain in the spring caused some delays that have since been made up, and the project is scheduled for completion by Oct. 15.
