Construction in the Ozarks: Rick's Automotive

Posted online
Construction continues on the 14,000-square-foot expansion of Rick’s Automotive for owner Rick Hughlett. The new space will house offices and waiting room space, as well as 10 vehicle service bays, bringing the shop’s total to 28 bays. Stinson & Co. LLC is the general contractor for the project, designed by architecture firm Buxton Kubik Dodd Creative. Engineers are Shaffer & Hines Inc., civil; Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; and Colvin Jones Davis LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project, which has an estimated cost of $1.5 million, was originally slated for completion in May, but Hughlett has said completion was delayed by weather and economic conditions, including subcontractor layoffs. Completion is now slated for Dec. 23, Hughlett said.
