City's July sales tax check up 9%

The 1 percent sales tax check for July presented to the city by the Missouri Department of Revenue is $3.9 million, a 9.2 percent uptick from July 2010 tax revenue collections of $3.6 million, according to a city news release.

The check is the first for fiscal year 2012, which began July 1. However, the check represents collections from previous months.

According to the release, July is the fourth consecutive month with positive sales tax returns for the city, compared to the same months in the previous year.
