Scholarship amounts available through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks has increased by 13.5 percent this year compared to 2011.
The foundation's scholarship awards and renewals, funded through donations, comprise more than 220 named scholarship funds valued at nearly $925,000. In the 2011 scholarship cycle, CFO administered about $815,000, according to a news release.
“CFO-administered scholarships continue to have double-digit growth, benefitting outstanding students in our greater affiliate region of southern Missouri,” said Judith Billings, CFO scholarship coordinator, in the release.
Scholarships range from public or private colleges and universities to medical or nursing schools, as well as vocational-technical education funds and scholarships earmarked for students of specific high schools, among others.
Though scholarship application deadlines vary, the earliest deadline is March 1. The list is available on CFO's
