A California man is seeking to block Silver Dollar City's use of the Mystic River Falls name.
Scott D'Avanzo alleges the name is too similar to a haunted house attraction, called Mystic Motel, that he created out of his Orange County, California, home in 2013. Silver Dollar City has filed suit, claiming Mystic Motel is no longer operational and its name does not currently appear to be in use. Silver Dollar City officials also claim D'Avanzo did not file an objection to the name during the Branson theme park's patent process.
Mystic River Falls is the $23 million replacement for Silver Dollar City's popular Lost River of the Ozarks water ride. It's scheduled to launch next summer.
