The Management Development Institute of SMSU is offering Creating a Motivating Environment 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at University Plaza. Barb Schoenberger will cover ways to create a work environment where employees will be positive, energetic and excited about contributing to productivity. The fee is $149. The Management Development Institute of SMSU is offering Essentials of Effective Supervision, a 12-week course providing a strong base for first-line supervisors. The Institute for Professional Businesswomen is presenting a one-day seminar on stress management for women. Lorman Education Services is presenting "Multistate Tax Issues for Businesses." This one-day seminar is designed for industrial and business controllers, CFOs, tax managers and officers, and accountants. The program qualifies as 7 hours of continuing education credit for agents under Treasury Department Circular No. 230 Section 10.6(g). Tuition is $189 for a single registrant or $179 each for two registrants from the same organization. The cost includes written course material and lunch. The Breakfast with Champions/Executive-in-Residence series will begin with a session by John (Jack) Stack, president and CEO, SRC Holdings Corp. The series offers opportunities for the business community, students and the public to hear real-world insights from industry leaders. Breakfast With Champions will begin at 7:30 a.m. in John Q's at the University Plaza Hotel. There is a $15 fee that includes a full breakfast and the session. The Management Development Institute of SMSU is offering a human resource fundamentals course. It will provide an overview of the strategic role human resource personnel play in organizations. This course will be taught by Jovanna Kellough, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the University Plaza Hotel. Tuition is $149.
