Branson tourism entities launch $680K marketing campaign

Posted online
The Branson Airport, the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the Tourism Community Enhancement District have partnered to launch a $680,000 marketing campaign promoting Branson and AirTran Airways.

The Branson Airport matched the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & CVB's joint $250,000 addition to be used for television advertising in the Chicago area, and added $80,000 to a $100,000 investment by the Tourism Community Enhancement District for a radio campaign in the Houston market, according to an airport news release.

“It’s exciting to partner with the community in this way,” Jeff Bourk, executive director for Branson Airport, said in the release. “Marketing Branson ‘the destination’ is important to our area, and we are pleased to be a part of this great effort.”

Chicago and Houston are the sites of two nonstop flight paths added in February by AirTran Airways to and from Branson Airport, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

"Chicago and Houston are already strong drive markets, and we believe that this co-op campaign with the Branson Airport and the announcement of nonstop AirTran service directly into Branson will bring many more visitors to our area this year," said Ross Summers, president and CEO of the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & CVB, in the release.

Tourism Community Enhancement District Chairwoman Ann McDowell echoed similar sentiment.

“It makes sense to leverage our marketing dollars with businesses that are driving visitors to our tourism district," she said in the release.[[In-content Ad]]
