The Bolivar Area Chamber of Commerce recognized two organizations with annual best-of awards.
Shelter Insurance was named Business of the Year, and Community Outreach Ministries received Community Partner of the Year honors, according to a news release issued last week. The award ceremony was held Nov. 11 at Bolivar First Assembly of God church.
“There were several wonderful nominations this year,” Bolivar chamber President Jennifer Fields said in the release. “It was a tough choice this year among some very fine and deserving nominees."
Nominated organizations submitted applications that highlight their history, scope of work, economic successes and contributions to the community. Winners were chosen by a selection committee comprising members of the chamber's executive board and other board directors.
“The Bolivar area is blessed with many dedicated, successful and involved businesses and organizations. Shelter Insurance and Community Outreach Ministries are perfect examples," Fields added in the release.
Shelter Insurance in Bolivar offers automotive, home, life and other types of insurance. Community Outreach Ministries is a nonprofit designed to fill poverty and hunger needs in Polk County.
