Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden unveiled his plans for a new federal health care plan.
The plan calls on the preservation of the most popular features of the Affordable Care Act, including Medicaid expansion and protections for patients with pre-existing conditions.
The plan also would allow Medicare to directly negotiate drug prices. Tax credits helping Americans buy lower-priced health insurance would be extended, and the importation of prescription drugs from abroad would be allowed under the plan.
Biden's campaign estimates the plan would cost $750 billion over a decade.
