BBB warning identifies local garage door business

Posted online

The Better Business Bureau issued a warning about doing business with a local garage door installer.

Access Door LLC allegedly failed to deliver and install ordered garage doors and did not provide refunds for some customers, according to a news release. The business, which is not accredited with the BBB and has the lowest possible rating with the consumer watchdog nonprofit, also has been accused of failing to communicate with clients.

Consumer complaints to the BBB have accused Access Door of taking upfront payments to install garage doors and, after failing to provide the promised service, cutting off communication. The company is registered with the Missouri secretary of state by Joshua Hutton and Jennifer Reid.

“If a company can’t deliver a product or service that someone has paid for, it is obligated to refund money,” said Stephanie Garland, BBB Springfield regional director, in the release. “Cutting off lines of communication with your customers does nothing to solve the problem.”

Access Door is listed as "permanently closed" in its Google business profile. A number on file for the company went unanswered this morning, and a voicemail was not set up.
