6.6M more Americans file for unemployment

Another 6.6 million Americans filed for unemployment benefits last week, according to Department of Labor data.

That brings the count to 16.8 million in the prior three weeks. That's about 11% of the U.S. labor force.

CNN Business reports it took two years for 8.6 million Americans to lose their jobs during the Great Recession.
