2024 40 Under 40: Abby Glenn

Abby Glenn, 35, brought her passion for the nonprofit industry with her to Central Bank in Springfield, for which she’s served as assistant vice president and business development officer since mid-2021.

Previously with Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, Missouri Inc., Glenn in 2023 won Central Bank’s Mike Williamson Community Service Award in recognition of her civic work.

At Central Bank, she coordinated an initiative to raise money for Burrell Behavioral Health by purchasing T-shirts for employees during May’s mental health awareness month. That initiative, which raises funds and awareness for Burrell, continues in 2024, she says.

“I’m always finding ways to develop partnerships for nonprofit organizations that I support,” says Glenn, who is on the ambassador board for the Burrell Foundation.

What did you learn the hard way? How to not send an emotional email. Thankfully, I learned that in college before I began my working career.

Best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Your boss should never be surprised whether it’s good news or bad news. Always prep them so they’re not caught off guard.

Favorite TV show/podcast/book? World War II historical fiction has always been one of my favorite genres.

Favorite local food order? The Jacqueline from Big Momma’s on C-Street.
