A La Cart? Architects

(Note: A new entry to the SBJ project listings, A La Cart? Architects is a food-service design consultant to the food service and hospitality industries.)

New Village Inn Restaurant. Located in Ozark, this Village Inn is a new prototype for Vicorp. The new location, owned by Village Inn of Springfield, comprises 5,000 square feet. Ben L.E. Webb, NCARB, AIA, is the architect, and Mo Do Co Inc. is the contractor. Valued at $500,000, the new restaurant was completed Sept. 26.

Imo's Pizza. Owned by Imo's of Springfield, this project entails the remodeling of a former retail building into a new restaurant. Located at 600 S. Pickwick, the project is slated for completion Oct. 10. Ben L.E. Webb, NCARB, AIA, is the architect, and the owner is acting as contractor.

Jack Ball & Associates

Ridgecrest Baptist Church. This project comprises a new sanctuary, classrooms and offices for Ridgecrest Baptist. More than 80,000 square feet, this addition marks Ridgecrest's final major building project on this site. A two-story addition, including 1,800-seat auditorium, business office complex, choir practice facility, educational classrooms, day-care facilities and other amenities, it is slated for completion in the summer of 2000. Chris Ball is the architect on the project, valued at $6.2 million, and The Wirt Company is the contractor.

Republic R-II School District. The first phase of this three-phase project for the Republic R-III School District includes a 43,000-square-foot kindergarten/early childhood facility. The building is designed around the little students, with their perspective in mind. It includes fenced and covered play areas, so security and weather are less of an issue. Phase II of the project is a high school athletic/PE facility, including an all-weather track, football field with seating for 2,000, concession stands, locker rooms, practice fields, etc. The third phase includes renovations, additions, reroofing, etc. Jack Ball and Chris Ball are the architects on the project, valued at $4.2 million.

Buffalo R-I School District. This project includes a new upper elementary school building and additions and renovations to an existing building. Pending voter approval in November, Buffalo plans to build a new upper elementary school on the same site with the middle school. Jack Ball and Chris Ball are the architects on the project, valued at $3.85 million. No contractor has been chosen and no completion date has been set.

Thayer R-III School District. This project includes a new middle school and additions and renovations to existing Thayer school buildings, pending voter approval of funds in the November election. These funds would allow construction of a new middle school at the high school site. The facility would house grades four through eight, possibly adding grade three at a later date. Chris Ball is the architect on the project, which is valued at $2.8 million.

New Clever High School. This project, for the Clever R-V School District, is a new, 60,000-square-foot high school, complete with many specialized rooms, including science, art, business, computer, foreign language, etc. It also offers a full-size gymnasium, practice/PE facility, and a kitchen/cafeteria addition and renovation. John McWilliams is the architect on the project, and the contractor is Don Crawford Construction Company. Valued at $2.8 million, the project is slated for completion in spring/summer 1999.

Cole County R-V School District. Located in Eugene, this project is a new industrial arts/vocational agriculture facility including shops, labs, classroom space and computer labs, plus additions to the high school, junior high and elementary schools. The classroom additions include a new elementary kitchen and cafeteria, computer rooms, Parents as Teachers room, etc., as well as a new high school library and general use classrooms. The additions are all two-story, and elevators and ramps were provided to facilitate accessibility. Jack D. Ball and John McWilliams are the architects on the project. J.J. Jackson Construction is the contractor on the shop/VoAg facility; the school additions will be bid next month. Valued at $3 million, the project should be complete in summer/fall 1999.

Classroom Addition to Golden City School. This project, for the Golden City R-III School Board, is a 4,500-square-foot classroom addition including an interactive television classroom, which will allow students to take classes that otherwise could not be offered in such a small town. Chris Ball is the architect on the project, and the contractor is Plaster and Associates Inc. Valued at $240,000, the project is slated for completion in November 1998.

Springhill Baptist Additions. Phase I of this project, which has been submitted to the county for a permit, features a new educational wing, including new bathrooms. Phase II will include a multipurpose gym/fellowship facility. Chris Ball is the architect on the project and Springhill Baptist is acting as its own contractor.

Paris R-II School District Elementary Addition. Pending voter approval in November, the Paris Elementary School will approximately double in size, with a new, full-size gym, stage, classrooms, etc. The new facility will be designed to blend with the existing facility that was built in the '60s. Chris Ball is the architect for the project, valued at $2.5 million.

Smithton Gymnasium and Classroom Addition. This project, for the Smithton R-VI School District, includes a new gymnasium facility seating 1,800 to 2,000, new locker rooms, five new classrooms including an interactive television classroom, and a new lobby with concession stand. The project awaits voter approval in November. Chris Ball is the architect on the project, valued at $2.1 million.

Fountain Day Spa & Salon. This facility, located at Oak Grove and Sunshine, will be two stories, designed around the specialized equipment needed for the spa and in accordance with the tenants' high design standards. The building includes four wet rooms with varying hydrotherapy equipment, four massage rooms, locker rooms, relaxation areas and a full salon. Chris Ball is the architect on the project, and Ty Morgan is the tenant. The contractor is Gray General Contractors.

Forsyth R-III Schools Additions and Renovations. Pending voter approval, this project will include a new shop/VoAg building, renovation to the kitchen and cafeteria and renovation of the building to include ground-source heating and cooling. Jack Ball and Chris Ball are the architects on the project, valued at $2.6 million.

C. Warren Bates Jr. and Associates

Chesterfield Park/Community Park Center. This project, for the Springfield-Greene County Parks Department, is a new, 40-acre park with a 30,000-square-foot, two-story community center containing a gymnasium, community and activities rooms, workout areas, locker rooms, child-care facilities and offices. The architects on the project, which is valued at $3.7 million, are Alan Bates and R.G. Foster. Located at Republic Road and Scenic, the project has an estimated completion date of August 1999. A contractor has not yet been selected for the project.

Cox Health System Projects. C. Warren Bates Jr. and Associates is working on a number of projects for Cox, including, but not limited to, the Center for Addictions, a master plan for Cox Monett, an addition to the Cox South pediatrics wing, the Cox North pediatrics wing, remodeling of nursing floors L-200, L-300, L-400 and J-100, the Pain Management Clinic and an ambulance garage in Republic.

Coca-Cola Office Addition. Located on North Packer Road in Springfield, this project, for Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Co., is a 7,000-square-foot addition, with mezzanine, to the company's existing facility. Alan L. Bates is the project architect, and Walton Construction is the contractor. Valued at $500,000, the project has an estimated completion date of April 1999.

Brown Derby Store. This new, 4,000-square-foot liquor store, located on West Sunshine, is valued at $250,000 and has a completion date of spring 1999. Alan L. Bates is the project architect.

BWI Warehouse. A 66,000-square-foot office and warehouse facility on one story, this project, owned by BWI Companies Inc. is located in Spartanburg, N.C. Alan L. Bates is the project architect, and the contractor has not yet been named. Scheduled for completion in summer 1999, the new facility is valued at $1.7 million.

Estate Riviera. Owned by Theresa and Ryan Richardson, this upscale, timeshare condominium project is located on Table Rock Lake south of Branson. Features of the development include a dock, clubhouse, tennis court, swimming pools, etc. Alan L. Bates is the project architect. Phase I of the development is valued at $6 million, with a total cost, when all phases are complete, of $25 million. Estate Riviera's estimated completion date for phase I is July 1999.

Hampton Inn. Owned by Reena Inc., this new, three-story, 70-room motel with swimming pool is located in Rolla. Warren Bates and Walt Albrecht are the architects on the project, and JCM Corporation of Marshfield is the contractor. Valued at $1.8 million, the new motel has an estimated completion date of Dec. 5, 1998.

Rockbridge Conference Center. Owned by the Amyx Family and located at Rockbridge Trout Farm in Rockbridge, this two-story facility will feature conference center accommodations on the main level for conferences, weddings, office retreats, etc., plus seven or eight upscale guest rooms on the lower level. Warren Bates is the architect on the project, which is valued at $800,000 and has an estimated completion date of late 1999.

Cox Walnut Lawn. Located on South National, this project for Cox Health System includes master planning and renovation to an existing facility. Alan L. Bates is the architect on the project, which has not yet established a budget or selected a contractor.

PriceCutter Supermarket. Located in Nixa, this new, 58,700-square-foot supermarket will include a drive-through deli. Alan L. Bates and Walt Albrecht are the architects on the project, and the contractor is Gray General Contractors. Valued at $2.4 million, the project has an estimated completion date of fall 1999.

Walgreens Store. This project, for The Sansone Group, is a new, approximately 14,000-square-foot retail store to be located at Highway M and Scenic. Alan L. Bates is the architect for the project, valued at $850,000.

Briggs Architecture

+ Design

Signorelli Residence. Located in Warren County, this project, for Andrew and Terri Signorelli, is planned to be built in a wooded meadow overlooking two lakes. The property is part of a 3,000-acre ranch run by the owners where urban children spend summers enjoying the rigors of outdoor life. The owners want a timber, glass and stone "lodge" structure to reflect the rugged beauty of the property. The project comprises two separate buildings linked with an enclosed timber-and-glass gallery that curves back and forth through the trees. The first building, the main lodge, is a 4,750-square-foot private residence for the owners. The second building, the 2,016-square-foot guest lodge, contains four bedroom suites, a kitchen and hearth space. Donald Briggs, AIA, is the architect on the project, in a joint venture with Mitchell and Hugeback Architects of St. Louis. Larry Maynes is the contractor on the project, valued at $1.2 million and with an estimated completion date of summer 1999.

Brookhart Residence. Located at Stonebridge Village near Branson, this project is a two-level, 5,400-square-foot custom home above the 11th fairway at Stonebridge. Owners Smith and Gail Brookhart strategically purchased the sloping, tree-covered lot and challenged the architect to consider views toward the home, as well as views from within, as design parameters. The topography of the site suggested developing a plan to be entered on the upper level (uphill), providing tree-top views out back toward the golf course below, with a glimpse of the clubhouse and wooded hills beyond. The upper level contains living and dining areas, kitchen, laundry, study, master suite, garage and motor court. The lower level is accessed via an enlarged, unique "U" shaped stairwell. The stairs' mid-level landing is enlarged and provided with perimeter built-in seating surrounded with large windows, flooding the space with light and providing a panoramic view. The lower level has an informal entertainment space and three guest suites. Donald Briggs, AIA, is the architect on the project, and Howard Bailey is the contractor. The home is slated for completion in November 1998.

Custom Residence. Located in Christian County, this home project is being constructed on a 40-acre wooded site overlooking a small lake. The 6,200-square feet of living area is entered upslope on the main floor level and contains entertainment spaces, a home office, private suite, guest suite, laundry and garage. The lower level, a walk-out on the downslope, contains an informal family room, exercise space, two guest suites, storage and HVAC spaces. The home is approached via a tree-lined drive from the north, and entered from the west. The interior is oriented to the east for morning light and lake views. An eclectic blend of Spanish and Italian detailing complete the Old World-crafted character desired by the owner. Donald Briggs, AIA, is the architect on the project, and the owner is acting as contractor. Valued at $900,000, this project is slated for completion in spring 2000.

Butler Rosenbury

& Partners

Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. This project, located in Grapevine, Texas, is a new, 192,000-square-foot themed retail facility, attached to the new Embassy Suites atrium hotel directly adjacent. The store will include fishing, hunting, camping, clothing and golf departments, along with boat sales. Butler Rosenbury & Partners is the project architect, and Bass Pro Shops Architecture Department is the design architect. The contractor on the project, slated for completion by Feb. 15, 1999, is Centex-Rooney Construction.

Embassy Suites. This hotel, for Hammons Hotels II LP, is a 12-story, 330-suite hotel with approximately 15,500 square feet of meeting space, adjoining the new Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Grapevine, Texas. David Hess, AIA, is the project manager for the $29 million hotel, and John Q. Hammons Architecture Department is the project architect. A September 1999 completion date has been set for this project, which is being constructed by CDI Contractors.

Embassy Suites. Located in Lincoln, Neb., this project, for John Q. Hammons Development, is a nine-story hotel with 255 suites, including four condominium units. Gerri Kielhofner, AIA, is the project manager, and the project architect is John Q. Hammons Architecture Department. Killian Construction Company is the contractor for the project, slated for completion in March 2000 and valued at $21 million.

Thompson Cadillac Pontiac GMC. This $4 million project is a full-service, 75,000-square-foot automobile dealership for Thompson Sales Co. located on 10 acres at Weller and Independence, overlooking James River Freeway. Andrew Wells, AIA, and Geoffrey Butler, AIA, are the project architects, and Aton Construction is the contractor. A completion date of winter 1999 has been set for the new dealership.

Holy Trinity Church. Located on East Bennett, this project includes beginning design and master planning services for the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Gir-ardeau. The project is focusing on office and fellowship space, and improvements to the rectory. Tim Rosenbury, AIA, is the project architect, and a contractor has yet to be named. The estimated completion date is in 1999.

The Grand Seville. This project, for Grand Seville LLC, includes the historic restoration and adaptive reuse of the former Seville Hotel as a 32-suite "boutique" hotel. Tim Rosenbury, AIA, is the project architect, and a contractor has yet to be named. Located at 214 E. Walnut Street, this project has an estimated cost of $2.3 million and an estimated completion date of September 1999.

First Card/First USA Expansion. Michael Harned, AIA, is the project architect for this 120,000-square-foot expansion of the First Card/First USA building at Republic and Campbell. Valued at $12 million with an estimated completion date of October 1999, a contractor has not been named for this project.

The Casey Associates

Jack Henry Building. This project, located in Monett, is a new, 50,000-square-foot corporate headquarters building for Jack Henry & Associates, a firm specializing in computer products for the banking industry. The $6 million project, under project architect Allen Casey, is being built by R.E. Smith Construction and has a November 1998 completion date.

Forbis Residence. A custom home for Mark and Dawn Forbis, of Monett, this project is designed by Allen Casey. The contractor for the project, valued at $275,000, is Kenmar Construction.

TGI Fridays. Allen Casey is the project architect on this renovation for TGI Fridays in Springfield. Kenmar Construction is the contractor on the project, completed in September.

Herren Residence. An approximately 8,000-square-foot French country home on a 100-acre site, this new residence for Cline and Barbara Herren is located in Marshfield. The project has an estimated completion date of 1999.

Springfield Association for the Blind. Located at 1600 N. Washington in Springfield, this $120,000 project involves

renovations and an addition to the association's existing building. Allen Casey is the project architect, and Kenmar Construction is the contractor.

Cummins Architects

Parkview Christian Church Multipurpose Building. This project, located at 1362 S. Campbell, is an 8,300-square-foot multipurpose building with classrooms and kitchen for Parkview Christian Church. Cummins Architects is the project architect, and the contractor is Burris & Company. Valued at $650,000, the project has an estimated completion date of February 1999.

Laura Jean Derrick, aia

Happy Tails. Located at 1670 S. Enterprise, this project is a new, 6,000-square-foot day-care facility for dogs. It includes a 4,300-square-foot indoor play area and a 4,900-square-foot exterior play yard with state-of-the-art equipment and specialized training for dogs. Laura Derrick is the architect for Happy Tails, which is owned by Shirley Cooper. Bob Stoner, of Res-Tone, is the contractor for the project. Valued at $292,000, the project was complete in September.

Russ Kerr Apartments. Laura Derrick is the architect for this downtown renovation project, located at 424 W. McDaniel. The project entails renovation of a 4,000-square-foot, two-story office warehouse facility. The first floor will remain office/warehouse space, while an intermediate floor will be added to allow for two floors with four apartments each, including one-bedroom lofts and two-bedroom spaces. Hoke Construction is the contractor on the project, which was complete in September.

The Crescent Hotel. Located in Eureka Springs, Ark., this project, owned by Marty and Elise Roenigk, includes the addition of a 3,200-square-foot penthouse apartment with a 270-square-foot sitting/viewing tower. The penthouse exterior is designed to recapture the historical flavor of the original 1950s penthouse that burned on the location in the 1960s. Laura Derrick is the architect for the penthouse and Dick Howell Construction is the contractor. Valued at $600,000, the project's completion date is estimated as first-quarter 1999.

Land Bank Building. This $200,000 renovation of the downtown Land Bank Building, originally built in the 1920s, includes turning the first floor into a 3,100-square-foot restaurant, along with building stabilization and exterior renovation. Future development on the upper three floors will provide 16 apartments for the elderly. Laura Derrick is the architect on the project, owned by Dennis Radford-Kapp. Cowherd Construction is the contractor for the project, which has an estimated completion date of 1999.

NationsBank in Coffeyville. Located in Coffeyville, Kan., this project is a 3,000-square-foot addition to a drive-through banking facility. The addition will include new offices, a vault, a conference room and an ATM room. Laura Derrick is the project architect.

Ozark Downtown. This Ozark Community Development Association project is a master plan showing the economic development potential for the community with a focus on the historical areas of the community and the public square in particular. Laura Derrick is the project architect.

St. John's Regional Health Center. Located at the Whiteside Medical Building, this project entails infill for 30,000 square feet on the second and third floors of the facility. The second floor is designed for use by Internal Medicine Associates offices and the third floor will be used by Springfield Family Medicine and will include lab and X-ray facilities. DeWitt & Associates is the contractor, and Laura Derrick is the project architect. Valued at $1.22 million, the project has an estimated completion date of January 1999.

NationsBank in Lebanon. This project entails the addition of one commercial and three standard drive-through lanes for an existing banking facility in Lebanon. Additionally, interior renovations, relocating the teller area to the new drive-through area and the addition of an ATM area, are planned. Laura Derrick is the architect for the project.

Domestic Aide Apartment. Owned by Karen and Bob Dressner, this project, at 607 N. Jefferson, is the conversion of the second floor of an existing facility into a two-bedroom, 1,000-square-foot apartment with a 300-square-foot loft area. Laura Derrick is the architect, and Bob Dressner is the contractor. The project has an estimated completion date of Jan. 1, 1999.

Gillenwaters Project. Located on Brookwood Lane in rural Greene County, this project is a new, rustic two-story residence for Deb and Jim Gillenwaters. The home features 2,050 square feet with an attached 1,750-square-foot garage and upstairs one-bedroom apartment. The rustic theme of the home is carried out with post-and-beam construction to blend with its natural setting. Laura Derrick is the project architect, and the contractor is Gary Herman. Valued at $300,000, the estimated completion date for the home is late spring 1999.

Glossip Residence. This residential project, for Paula and Larry Glossip, is a new, 4,930-square-foot home. It will have a 1,400-square-foot walk-out basement with a one-car garage. The 2,750-square-foot main level includes a gallery kitchen, master bedroom and master bath with spa and his-and-her walk-in closets, guest bedroom and bath, two-car garage and large exterior deck with spa. This level also features a large great room with high ceilings, allowing for many glass windows offering a view of the rural site. Overlooking the great room is a 750-square-foot loft with bath.

Gaskin Hill Norcross Architects/Engineers

The Old Calaboose. This project, for the city of Springfield, entails the restoration and renovation of the Old Calaboose, the oldest structure built by the city. Charles C. Hill, AIA, is the principal in charge, and Joe Vejraska, CSI, is the project director. Mechanical and electrical engineering services were provided by Malone Finkle Eckhardt Collins, Mark Malone, PE, principal in charge, and Steve Colvin, EIT, mechanical electrical engineer. The project includes rescuing the facility from the effects of age, weather and lack of ongoing maintenance, and historical restoration to return the structure to use as a police substation and police museum. Whenever available, original materials are being used and reconstruction components are consistent with the secretary of the interior's Standards for Historic Preservation Projects. Springfield Builders Inc. is the contractor on the project, valued at $158,896 and slated for completion in November 1998.

Estep Building Renovation. Located at 1600 University Ave. in Bolivar, this project, for Southwest Baptist University, entails renovation of the former Estep Library to house the Colleges of Education and Social Sciences. Specialized classrooms include an electronic presentation classroom, instructional computer classroom, multipurpose instructional facilities, and innovative social science and counseling labs. Remedial work to bring the existing building into compliance with the current applicable codes and handicapped accessibility requirements included new restrooms and an elevator. Charles C. Hill, AIA, is the principal in charge, and Joe Vejraska, CSI, is project director. The construction is valued at $1.15 million, and interior furnishings were $162,479. Killian Construction is the contractor on the project, which is now complete.

Ozarks Medical Center, Shaw Medical Building. Located at 1100 Kentucky Ave. in West Plains, this project is a 29,000-square-foot facility providing a state-of-the-art cancer treatment and diagnostics center on the first level, which includes a linear

accelerator, MRI and a chemotherapy suite. The second level facilitates a new rehabilitation center including physical therapy, speech therapy, industrial

rehab and occupational rehab. Charles

C. Hill, AIA, is the principal in charge, Ken Stufflebeam, AIA, is the project

architect and Gulley Carter, PE, is the structural engineer. RKL Construction Company is the contractor on the project, slated for completion in November 1998. Valued at $2.82 million, the project is being achieved at a cost of $98 per square foot.

Boy Scouts of America Scout Service Center. The new Boy Scout Service Center will feature 10,000 square feet of finished space on the main floor and 5,000 square feet of shell space on the lower level. The building will contain the administrative and business offices of the Ozark Trails Council, a fully stocked Scout store, fully equipped volunteer training center, meeting rooms and a Scouting museum. The building is of rustic concrete block in earth tones, heavy timbers and the green, standing-seam metal roof will be integrated into a natural park/preserve setting. The building will incorporate the latest communications and computer technology and will allow for future upgrades. Charles C. Hill, AIA, is the principal in charge, and Paul Melgren, AIA, is the project architect. Slated for completion in late 1999, the project is valued at $1.51 million.

Franciscan Villa Third Floor Renovation. Located at 620 W. Scott, this project, for The Kitchen Inc., entailed the renovation of the third floor of a 1920s hospital building into a self-care retirement home for the elderly and disabled. Twenty-three single and multiple-room apartments were created and many of the existing walls and doors were reused, preserving historic character while saving costs on demolition and new materials. Color schemes and variation in floor plans give each unit its own identity. Communal spaces were created to promote interaction among residents. All new plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems were installed on the third floor, and the fire sprinkler systems were upgraded for the whole building. Charles C. Hill, AIA, was the principal in charge, Paul Melgren, AIA, was the project architect, and Robert Snell, PE, was the mechanical/electrical engineer. Nesbitt Construction was the contractor on the $591,307 project, completed in May 1998.

Forsyth Athletic Center Phase I. This expansion and renovation project on the campus of Southwest Missouri State University includes a second-floor addition wrapping over and around the existing structure, featuring a 3,440-square-foot conference room, and SMSU athletic and administrative office. It also allows expansion for new locker rooms and future office needs to be addressed in phase II. Charles C. Hill, AIA, is the principal in charge, Ken Stufflebeam, AIA, is the project architect, and Malone Finkle Eckhardt Collins is the consulting mechanical/electrical engineer. MECO Construction Company is the contractor on the $2.4 million project, and phase I was complete in September.

Hood-Rich Inc. Architects & Engineers

Barton County Courthouse Remodeling. Located in Lamar, this project is a remodel of existing space located on the second floor of the courthouse building. The remodeled areas will contain a courtroom, public meeting area, file space and office space. Approximate square footage of the renovated area is 1,800 square feet. Jana B. Funk is the project architect, and Dalton-Killinger Construction, of Joplin, is the contractor. Valued at $104,864, the project has an estimated completion date of Feb. 11, 1999.

Lawrence County Courthouse Remodeling. Located in Mount Vernon, this project entails replacement of windows throughout the courthouse, including modifications to entries, railings, etc. Jack K. Hood is the project architect, and the contractor has not yet been selected. Valued at $140,000, the project is slated for completion by Feb. 19, 1999.

West Plains Conservation Service Center. This project comprises two buildings. The first is a 19,339-square-foot, single-story multipurpose/auditorium facility for the general public with administrative offices. The facility will accommodate multimedia educational seminars for the public and Conservation Department employees. It has a 2,000-square-foot lobby for a fish tank and educational display. A 14,060-square-foot maintenance/storage facility will accommodate service and storage of department vehicles. Jack K. Hood is the project architect, and the project has not yet been bid. Valued at $3 million, this project awaits funding before setting a completion date.

Redeemer Lutheran Church. Located in Mountain Home, Ark., this project is a family life center, including classrooms, gymnasium/fellowship hall, kitchen, restrooms, administrative office, plus expansion of the existing narthex into sanctuary. Jack K. Hood is the project architect, and the project has not yet been bid. Valued at $1.74 million, it is slated for completion in November 1999.

Fellowship Bible Church. Located on Highway 60 East in Springfield, this project is a new church comprising 8,700 square feet in its first phase. Phase I includes classrooms, restrooms, a fellowship hall and administrative offices. Jack K. Hood is the project architect, and the project has not yet been bid. With an estimated value of $400,000, the project has an estimated completion date of June 1999.

Warehouse and Office Space. A single-story, 8,250-square-foot warehouse facility with retail showroom and offices, this project, for owner George Johnston, is located at 4234 S. Reed Road, near the Springfield Nature Center. Jack K. Hood is the project architect, and Reed & Associates Construction Inc. is the contractor. This project was completed in September.

Dade County Nursing Home Addition. Located in Greenfield, this project is an 8,000-square-foot patient room addition featuring a complete nurses' station and related functions. The building orientation takes advantage of the views across the Ozarks countryside to provide as home-like an atmosphere as possible for the patients. Steve Logan is the project architect, and Kenmar Construction is the contractor. Valued at $570,000, the project was completed in September.

U.S. Postal Service Processing and Distribution Center Expansion. A 45,000-square-foot processing and distribution center addition to the main Springfield post office at 500 W. Chestnut Expwy., this project was a design-build project teaming Hood-Rich with contractor DeWitt & Associates. Valued at $4.5 million and slated for completion in October 1998, the project will be finished on time and within budget.

New Training Facility for Battlefield Fire Department. A new 7,000-square-foot office and classroom building featuring a 78-seat classroom, administrative offices and related facilities for all types of training for fire fighting and rescue, this facility will offer training for firefighters from all local districts, as well as safety classes for local business and industry. Steve Logan is the project architect, and Rich Kramer Construction is the contractor. The project is slated for completion Oct. 20, 1998.

New Battlefield Fire Station. A new, 4,500-square-foot satellite fire station for the Battlefield Fire Protection District, this project has not yet been bid. Steve Logan is the architect on the station, which will house three trucks and provide offices and sleeping quarters. It is slated for completion in summer 1999.

Early Childhood Center for Strafford R-VI School District. Steve Logan is the project architect for this 22,500-square-foot, single-story building with site improvements, including parking lot and through street. The building is designed so additions can be economically made as the district's needs grow. It will house the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes, thus enabling the current elementary facility to handle the expected growth in enrollment for several years. It will also bring state-mandated pre-kindergarten programs back on campus. The building contains 11 classrooms, a lunch/activity room, office area, lobby and restrooms. Valued at $1.22 million, this project has not yet been bid. It has a completion date of fall 1999, pending voter approval.

Addition to Stone County National Bank. Located in Reeds Spring, this project is an addition to an existing bank branch. The new 780 square feet will contain office space, an employee lounge and restroom area. The existing areas of the bank will be remodeled to enlarge the customer lobby, add a coupon booth and increase the size of the walk-up teller counter. Jack K. Hood is the architect on the project, and the contractor is Joe Essary, of Cape Fair. It is slated for completion in early 1999.

Stone County National Bank New Branch. This project, in Galena, will serve as a branch bank for the area. It will offer a customer lobby area, office space and a drive-up teller area. The building contains 2,100 square feet of space. Building materials include brick veneer, stone, wood siding and a metal roofing system. Jana B. Funk is the project architect, and Double Eagle Construction, of Galena, is the contractor. Valued at $300,000, the project has an estimated completion date of March 15, 1999.

Auto Magic Express Car Wash with Full Service Option and Detail Area. This project, for owner Bill Barclay, comprises a total of 10,500 square feet on South Campbell Avenue. It will contain two tunnels, one for the exterior express car wash and the other for full-service interior cleaning. There will also be an express detailing shop with three bays. The construction materials will consist of masonry walls and precast concrete roof structure. Jana B. Funk is the project architect, and the project has not yet been bid. The estimated completion date is spring 1999.

JPS & Associates Inc.

North Brighton Townhomes. Located in Kansas City, this project entails window replacement for a 378-unit apartment complex, comprising 1,796 windows, exterior trim and interior sills. The JPS Design Team is the architect on the project, owned by North Brighton Townhouses Inc. Koch Corporation is the contractor on the $700,000 renovation, slated for completion in December 1998.

Durham Manufacturing Addition. This approximately 40,000-square-foot addition to the existing Durham plant in Lebanon includes a dock and loading area, along with general manufacturing space. Designed by the JPS Design Team, the addition will be built by True Construction. Valued at $1.2 million, the project's estimated completion date is spring 1999.

Cape Cod Village Apartments Renovation. This $1.74 million project involves the interior and exterior renovation of an existing apartment complex in Morton, Ill. The design enhances the apartments' waterfront setting with vernacular-shingle style architecture. The JPS Design Team is the architect on the project, owned by James Stewart Properties. Peoria Construction is the contractor, and the estimated completion date is spring 1999.

Cape Cod Village Addition. Also located in Morton, Ill., this project is the design of a new, 24-unit apartment building and nine new three-bedroom townhouses. The design will be consistent with the existing building and the vernacular-shingle style architecture. The JPS Design Team is the architect on the project, and the contractor is Peoria Construction. No completion date has been set for the estimated $1.8 million project, owned by James Stewart Properties.

Durham Office Expansion. An 8,000-square-foot, two-story office expansion for Durham Manufacturing Co., of Lebanon, the design of this project allows for an 80-seat break room with restrooms and storage, plus 10 upper-level offices and a conference room overlooking the production area. The JPS Design Team is the architect for the project, valued at $194,795, and True Construction is the contractor.

Liberty Bank Expansion. A 6,500-square-foot, single-story expansion to the existing main bank facility at 1414 E. Primrose St., this project will enable Liberty Bank to accommodate new offices and loan departments. The design of the addition echoes the architectural style and materials of the existing bank. The project architect is Charlie Johnson, with architect intern Jeff Smith. Aton Construction is the contractor, and the completion date and cost have yet to be determined.

New Liberty Bank. Located in Greenfield, this project is a 3,000-square-foot, one-story bank building with drive-through and ATM facilities. The bank will house offices, tellers and a loan department. The structure is wood and steel with masonry exterior and a pitched roof with shingles. The design will match the colonial style of the main bank in Springfield. Charlie Johnson is the project architect with architect intern Jeff Smith, and the contractor is Aton Construction.

Cookies by Design. A 1,476-square-foot infill to accommodate a new cookie shop with office, preparation area and retail counter, this project is located at 302 E. Republic Road and is owned by Joann Dapp. The JPS Design Team is the architect on the project, and Carleton Building Company is the contractor. Valued at $26,000, a completion date of winter 1998 has been set.

Boys & Girls Town Renovations. This project, in the schematic design phase, encompasses renovation of existing structures on the Springfield campus, 1212 W. Lombard, for administrative and social services purposes. The JPS Design Team is the architect on the project, and the owner is Boys & Girls Town of Missouri. A contractor and budget have yet to be determined for the project.

Computer Renaissance. Located at 308 Republic Road, this project is a 2,760-square-foot building infill to accommodate a new computer store with offices, storage and retail space. The JPS Design Team is the architect for the $55,000 project, and Carleton Building Company is the contractor. The project is owned by Tom Dapp.

Country Kitchen Renovation and Addition. This project is an interior and exterior renovation of an existing Country Kitchen in Lebanon. It includes new interior finishes and furniture, new exterior wall finishes, mansard roofs with backlit dormers, and a new entry and lobby area of approximately 240 square feet. Jeff Ronald is the owner of the project, and the architect is Charlie Johnson, with architect intern Jeff Smith. True Construction is the contractor on the project, slated for completion in spring 1999.

Hawthorne Place Apartments. A full exterior renovation of an existing apartment complex in Independence, this project entails renovation of windows, roofs, paint, trim, gutters and accessories, plus new landscaping with signage and complex entry gates. Charlie Johnson is the architect, with architect intern Jeff Smith, and the contractor is Miller Building Services. Valued at $3.9 million, the project's estimated completion date is fall 1999. It is owned by Midland Properties.

Lohmeyer-Russell PC

Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. Located at the corner of West Bypass and Kearney Street, this project, for owner John Q. Hammons, is a new, 132-room, three-story hotel comprising approximately 70,000 square feet. The hotel will include an indoor pool, exercise room, small meeting rooms, restaurant and lounge for guests and an exterior landscaped courtyard. Jim S. Lohmeyer, AIA, is the project architect. Valued at about $4.5 million, the project's estimated completion date is summer 1999.

New Gymnasium for Dora R-III School District. This new, 13,650-square-foot gymnasium in Dora includes a high school basketball and volleyball floor, along with accessory locker rooms and storage rooms. The gymnasium is also designed for a future second floor to accommodate additional classrooms. Jim S. Lohmeyer, AIA, is the architect on the project, and Peterson Construction Company, of Mountain Grove, is the contractor. Valued at $650,000, the project is slated for completion in December 1998.

New School for Dora R-III School District. An approximately 29,000-square-foot K-12 school facility, this project consists of a slab-on-grade split-level structure housing elementary, mid-high and senior high classrooms. Specialty classrooms include junior and senior high science rooms, home economics rooms, an art classroom, computer classrooms and general classrooms. The new facility is being built on the site of the old school, which burned down in January 1998. Jim S. Lohmeyer, AIA, is the architect on the project, which is valued at $1.6 million and has an estimated completion date of fall 1999.

Addition for First Baptist Church-Richland. Jim S. Lohmeyer, AIA, is the architect on this 3,500-square-foot addition to the existing First Baptist Church in Richland. The addition will include

an elevator, lobby and classrooms, and has a brick/block and stone exterior, matching the existing church. The addition is three stories, connecting all three existing floors with the new elevator and stairway. The addition will also become the main entry between the existing facility and a new educational facility to be built in the future. Gentry Construction of Houston, Mo., was the contractor on the $375,000 project, completed in August 1998.

Students in Free Enterprise Office Addition. Located at 1959 E. Kerr, this addition comprises 41,000 square feet on three floors utilizing brick, precast concrete trim and stucco. The addition joins the existing 5,600-square-foot office. By separating the building's base from the upper portion with heavy brick and precast accents, the new building complements the materials and details of the existing office. J. Randy Russell, AIA, is the architect on the project, and Killian Construction is the contractor. Slated for completion in January 1999, the project is valued at $1.2 million.

Summer Fresh Supermarkets Inc. New supermarkets for Lamar, Mount Vernon, Kimberling City and El Dorado Springs comprise this project, owned by David and Leslie Trottier. The stores will each be 35,000-square-foot, single-story buildings with split-face concrete block base and pilasters, precast trim and stucco. J. Randy Russell, AIA, is the architect on the project, and Gray General contractors is the contractor. Valued at $3 million to $3.5 million, the project's completion date is spring 1999.

Springfield Public Schools ADA Modifications. Located at Kickapoo and Hillcrest High Schools, this project includes interior and exterior renovation work for restrooms, concessions and bleachers. J. Randy Russell, AIA, is the architect on the project, and the contractor is Kenmar Construction Company. Valued at $213,000, the project is slated for completion in fall 1998.

First Baptist Church of Shelbina, Mo. This project includes a 440-seat sanctuary, 400-capacity education and fellowship facility and relocation to a new, 10-acre site. J. Randy Russell, AIA, is the architect on the project, which has an estimated value of $1.5 million and a completion date of fall 1999.

First Baptist Church of Spokane. This project entails a new sanctuary with basement, to be added on to the existing sanctuary of the church, located off Old Highway 160 in Spokane. The existing sanctuary will be renovated for education and fellowship space. J. Randy Russell, AIA, is the project architect. The cost and contractor have not been determined, but the estimated completion date is fall 1999.

Marshall-Waters-Woody, Architecture & Planning

Ozark Elementary School. This project, for the Ozark R-VI Schools, is a 65,000-square-foot elementary school with 32 classrooms, a multipurpose room, cafeteria and kitchen, art room, library, computer room, music room and administrative offices. The exterior materials are face brick, split concrete block, aluminum and glass, and composition shingles. Edwin C. Waters is the architect on

the project, and the contractor is MECO Systems. Valued at $4.35 million, the project is slated for completion May 1, 1999.

American Red Cross Greater Ozarks Chapter. Bill Woody is the architect on this project, located at 1835 E. Chestnut Expwy., for the American Red Cross Greater Ozarks Chapter. It comprises remodeling of an existing building of approximately 7,700 square feet for disaster relief services and first-aid training. Remodeling includes an emergency operations area and office, a large classroom, plus administration, finance and communications offices. Morelock-Ross Builders Inc. is the contractor, and the project has an estimated completion date of November 1998.

The Bank. Located at Fremont and Kingsley, this project is a two-story bank building of approximately 12,000 square feet. Exterior materials include brick, pre-cast concrete and a standing seam metal roof. Bill Woody is the architect on the project, and the contractor is Morelock-Ross Builders Inc. Owned by The Bank, this project has an estimated completion date of 1999.

Catholic Campus Ministries. A 20,000-square-foot, one-story structure with partial basement, this project is a multipurpose building including a chapel, music facilities, guest quarters, library, gathering hall, counseling and administrative office, games lounge, and multipurpose/dining room with kitchen. Located on South Holland Avenue and owned by the Diocese of Springfield/Cape Girardeau, this project has an estimated cost of $1.7 million and is slated for completion in 2000. Bill Woody is the architect, and the contractor has not yet been chosen.

Construct Branch Exchange. Located at Fort Riley, in Kansas, this project for the Army & Air Force Exchange Service is a 12,000-square-foot, single-story brick building that incorporates a convenience store, gas dispensing, auto service and liquor sales. John Megee is the architect on the project, and a contractor has not been chosen. Valued at $1.3 million, the project is scheduled for completion Aug. 2, 1999.

Construct Branch Exchange. Located at the Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas, this Army & Air Force Exchange Service project is a 15,000-square-foot, single-story brick and EIFS building that includes a convenience store, gas dispensing, auto service, liquor sales and a Church's Chicken franchise. John Megee is the architect; the contractor has not been chosen. Slated for completion in 1999, the project is valued at $1.85 million.

Ness Architects

Thousand Oaks Medical Park. (See rendering on facing page.) A 90,000-square-foot building on four levels with an outpatient surgery facility as the anchor, this Joplin project, for Southwest Missouri Development Enterprises LLC, is designed by Donald P. Ness, AIA. Tenant and additional space is available for lease by health care providers. Crossland Construction Company Inc. is the contractor on the $6.2 million project, slated for completion in March or April of 1999.

Ozark Optical Laboratories Inc. Located at 1845 Arbor St., this project, for owner John Vannoy, is a 10,000-square-foot facility designed for complete production and processing operations. Donald P. Ness, AIA, is the project architect, and Springfield Builders Inc. is the contractor. Valued at $540,000, the facility was completed in August 1998.

New Clinic for Branson Heart Center. A 13,978-square-foot medical clinic for St. John's Health Systems, this project is designed by Donald P. Ness, AIA, and has an estimated completion date of summer 1999.

U.S. Department of Agriculture Building. Located at 688 S. State Hwy. B, this 9,533-square-foot building will be used for the offices of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Springfield Builders Inc. is the contractor for the project, which is valued at $640,000 and has an estimated completion date of January 1999. Donald P. Ness, AIA, of Ness Architects, is the project architect.

OMS Clinic Additions and Alterations. Donald P. Ness, AIA, is the project architect on this addition to the existing Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Group Ltd. clinic at 1965 S. Fremont.

Pellham-Phillips-Hagerman

New Church Facility. Located in Ozark, this 184,000-square-foot project, for James River Assembly Church, includes a sanctuary to seat 3,000, plus a 250-person choir and 50-person orchestra. The sanctuary features a 200-foot clear span and is designed for optimum acoustics. Other areas include administrative offices, a nursery, wedding chapel, prayer chapel, dining area and youth activities area on the main level, with youth and adult Sunday school classrooms, and choir and orchestra rehearsal rooms on the second floor. Situated at the northeast corner of Highway 65 and CC on 40 acres, the church will have a parking lot to accommodate 1,500 vehicles. Galen Pellham, AIA, Joe Jensen, AIA, and Chuck Foster, AIA, are the architects on the project, and Nabholz Construction Corp. is the contractor. Valued at $12 million, the project is slated for completion in December 1999.

Redeemer Lutheran Sanctuary Addition. This project comprises a 21,000-square-foot sanctuary addition including 800-seat sanctuary, large narthex, classrooms, meeting rooms, administration offices and additional parking. The structure will feature laminated wood-beam construction supported by four main concrete columns. Located at 2852 S. Dayton and slated for completion in June 1999, the church project is valued at $1.5 million. Chuck Foster, AIA, and Bruce Emeric are the architects on the project, and Nabholz Construction Corp. is the contractor.

Office Addition and Renovation. This project involves an addition to and renovation of an existing 25,000-square-foot Lebanon facility for Laclede Electric Cooperative. The addition will add about 8,000 square feet to the facility. The addition is on a single level with the exception of a large mezzanine. Carl James is the project architect; Jeff Wells is the structural engineer; Larry Phillips is the mechanical engineer; and Avonna Schirman is the interior designer. The estimated completion date for the project is Jan. 1, 2000.

Noble Corporate Offices. This project, for Noble and Associates, is a new, three-story, 30,000-square-foot corporate headquarters building located in Chesterfield Village. Chuck Foster, AIA, is the project architect, with Jeff Wells, structural engineer, Charles Tharp, mechanical engineer and Larry Phillips, electrical engineer. Valued at $2.4 million, the project is being built by Nabholz Construction Corp. and has a completion date of March 1999.

Branson Convention Center. This project, owned by John Connelly and located on 52 acres east of the Remington Theater Complex in Branson, will be a 156,000-square-foot convention center, including a 100,300-square-foot exhibition hall that can be divided into three spaces. Galen Pellham is the architect on the $16 million project, slated for completion in April 2000.

Crowne Plaza Hotel. This John Q. Hammons project, located in Charlotte, N.C., is situated adjacent to the Charlotte Coliseum and features 276 luxury and meetings suites. The brick and EIFS-clad building will contain convention space, a ballroom, meeting rooms, board rooms, dining facilities, and a fitness club with an indoor pool, spa and sauna. At the center of this post-tensioned concrete structure, a 56-foot diameter skylight will crown the nine-story garden atrium. Chuck Foster, AIA, is the architect on the project, slated for completion in August 1999, and Nabholz Construction Corp. is the contractor.

Ragsdale Architects Inc.

Purdy Neat Things Co. Inc. This project is a new office/warehouse/manufacturing facility for Purdy Neat Things, a carry-on luggage manufacturer, in Aurora. The facility comprises 20,500 square feet plus a 5,000-square-foot storage mezzanine. Construction is of pre-engineered steel with EIFS and split-face masonry exterior. Also included is 5,000 square feet of executive offices and conference space. Bryan D. Ragsdale is the project architect, and Reed & Associates Construction Inc. is the contractor. Valued at $825,000, the project was completed in July 1998.

Salon Service Group. Located at 1859 W. Arbor, this project is a 17,500-square-foot facility with 6,000 square feet of office space and the remainder devoted to warehouse for a wholesale beauty supply company. Construction is of pre-engineered steel with EIFS facade exterior. Owned by Gino and Dana Barbo, the project was designed by Bryan D. Ragsdale and constructed by Mo Do Co Inc. Valued at $500,000, the facility was completed Sept. 1, 1998.

First Financial Consultants. This project, owned by John Gill and Alan Suiter, comprises a new, 6,000-square-foot, single-story office building with a 1,000-square-foot conference meeting room and 2,500 square feet of additional, leasable space. First Financial Consultants occupies 3,500 square feet of the structure. Bryan D. Ragsdale was the project architect, and Carleton Building Co. was the contractor on the $500,000 project, completed May 1, 1998.

Sapp Design Associates Architects PC

Springfield Greene County Library. This project is the renovation of the former Payless Cashways Building on South Campbell into a destination library comprising 73,500 square feet. Features include a public auditorium seating 150 to 200, a privately managed cafe and a gift shop to be run by the Friends of the Library. The building will become the district's main resource center and will house 5,000 to 6,000 books now in storage, as well as the 70,000 books from the Kickapoo Prairie Branch. Some of the resources from the Main Library and the district's administrative office will relocate to the new building. Project architects are Michael J. Sapp, NCARB, AIA, James C. Stufflebeam, NCARB, AIA, and Alan K. Purvis, AIA. Valued at $2.5 million, the project has a fall 1999 completion date.

New Nixa High School Campus. This project, for the Nixa R-II School District, will include more than 200,000 square feet within a 2 1/2-story complex located on a 60-acre parcel in southwest Nixa. The high school will have a 3,000-seat gymnasium surrounded by an indoor track, 600-seat performance theater, and a community library flanking a two-story commons. A 500-seat auxiliary gym is included as part of this major complex, which will initially house about 1,200 students with expansion to accommodate 1,800 to 2,000 students. The project architects are Michael J. Sapp, NCARB, AIA, James C. Stufflebeam, NCARB, AIA, and Eric McCune. Valued at $15 million, the project's completion date is summer 2000.

Evangel Student Activities Center. This new, two-story, 30,000-square-foot Student Activities Center will accommodate intramural sports, recreation and wellness activities, and will be attached to the existing Ashcroft Athletic Center. The program includes a multisports forum for basketball, weight facility, locker rooms, aerobics/dance center, racquetball, indoor track and administrative offices. Gray General Contractors Inc. is the contractor on the project, which is valued at $1.7 million and has a completion date of June 1999. The project architects are Michael J. Sapp, NCARB, AIA, and James C. Stufflebeam, NCARB, AIA.

Stockton United Methodist Church. Michael J. Sapp, NCARB, AIA, and Kent Sanders, AIA, are the architects on this project, a new family life center and administration center building addition of approximately 10,000 square feet, plus minor renovations to the existing facility. Masonry Structures Inc. is the contractor on the $550,000 project, completed in September 1998.

State Youth Service Centers. Located in Cabool and New Madrid, respectively, these two new youth facilities for the Department of Social Services will house 30 residents each. The facilities will include sleeping rooms, food service areas, administrative and educational spaces and are approximately 10,000 square feet each. Michael J. Sapp, NCARB, AIA, and Pamela J. Haldiman, AIA, are the architects on the project, and R.L. Persons Construction is the contractor. Valued at $2.6 million, this state of Missouri project's completion date is spring 1999.

West Plains Public Library. This project, for the city of West Plains, is a new, 23,000-square-foot building that will house 60,000 volumes, a multimedia center, interactive CD programs, Internet reference search, statewide reference center, automated card catalog, community rooms, children's library and outdoor plaza, video conferencing and an adult center. The center will serve as a focus for building partnerships with community organizations, SMSU, the University of Missouri and entrepreneurial business-persons. MECO Systems Inc. is the contractor on the $1.7 million project, slated for completion this month. James C. Stufflebeam, NCARB, AIA, and Pamela J. Haldiman, AIA, are the architects on the job.

SMSU Faurot Hall Renovations and Additions. Located in Mountain Grove, this project is the renovation and adaptive reuse of Faurot Hall, the 1900-built administrative building for the Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station. Used as a research and education center by its owner, SMSU, the renovations provide a library, reading rooms, conference room, offices, distance learning classroom with interactive video capabilities and storage. The new, two-story addition features a large lecture hall, laboratory, student lounge, offices, kitchen and storage. The project architects are James C. Stufflebeam, NCARB, AIA, and Pamela J. Haldiman, AIA. MECO Systems Inc. is the contractor for the $839,000 project, slated for completion this month.

Hawker Power Systems. Located at the Partnership Industrial Center, this project includes 120,250 gross square feet of area. The plant area includes 104,250 gross square feet and a single-story attached office facility includes 16,000 square feet of space. The exterior perimeter walls include precast concrete wall panels, post-and-beam structural steel and a steel bar joist roof system. Michael J. Sapp, NCARB, AIA, James C. Stufflebeam, NCARB, AIA, and Kent Sanders, AIA, are the project architects. The contractor is Walton Construction company. The $3.9 million project was completed in August 1998.

ReGen Technologies LLC. Another Partnership Industrial Center project, this structure includes 118,770 square feet of area. The plant will have an area of 80,000 square feet and the office will have an area of 13,770 square feet and uncovered core storage of 25,000 square feet. Valued at $2.6 million, the facility is being built by Walton Construction. James C. Stufflebeam, NCARB, AIA, Kent Sanders, AIA, and Cari Williams, interior designer, worked on the project. The building, which will house a joint venture by Deere Company and Springfield ReManufacturing Corp., is slated for completion this month.

Stone County Law Enforcement Center. Located in Galena, this project includes the construction of a 6,400-square-foot, two-story addition to the existing Stone County Law Enforcement Center. The facility will have a new courtroom, jury deliberation room, two-story atrium, judges' office and clerk's department. Michael J. Sapp, NCARB, AIA, and John Waggoner, AIA, are the architects on the project. With an estimated cost of $800,000, the project is slated to be complete by summer 1999.

Mansfield R-IV Schools. Michael J. Sapp, NCARB, AIA, and Kent Sanders, AIA, are the architects on this project, the design of additions and renovations to an existing K-12 campus. New facilities will include commons/cafeteria, including kitchen, and library expansions for both the high school and middle school, along with six new classrooms and other miscellaneous renovations to the elementary. The value of the project is estimated at $3 million.

Great Southern Bank. This project is the complete restoration of masonry and reroofing for the existing eight-story downtown structure. Michael J. Sapp, NCARB, AIA, and Kent Sanders, AIA, are the architects on the project, and Mid-Continental Restoration Company is the contractor. Valued at $380,000, the project is slated for completion in spring 1999.

Slone Architects Inc.

Retail Center. Located at Highways 16 and 14 in Nixa, this project, for owner Dick Pendleton, is a retail shell building with 20,400 square feet of leasable space. Slone Architects is the architect on the project.

Twin Oaks Office Park. Building E and Building F of the Twin Oaks Office Park comprise this project, designed by Slone Architects. The facilities are both 10,000-square-foot shell office condominiums. Mo Do Co Inc. is the contractor on the project, slated for completion this fall.

Hometown Bank. Located in Carthage and in Joplin, these two, one-story, 5,200-square-foot banking facilities are owned by Hometown Bankshares and are designed by Slone Architects. G&G Construction is the contractor on the project, and the banks are slated for completion in fall 1998 and spring 1999, respectively.

Surrey Vacation Resort, Building B. Branson is the site of this project, designed by Slone Architects and contracted to L&J Consolidated Contractors Inc. The five-story, 15-unit condominium residence is valued at $2.6 million and has an estimated completion date of spring 1999. Surrey Vacation Resorts Inc. is the owner of the project.

Falls Village Resort. This 11,400-square-foot, two-story sales headquarters for Falls Village owner Blue Green Corp. is valued at $749,000 and slated for
