Gordon Sondland, U.S. ambassador to the European Union, testified about the existence of a quid pro quo with Ukraine.
“We followed the president’s orders," he said before a congressional committee and a TV audience of millions. “I know that members of this committee have frequently framed these complicated issues in the form of a simple question: Was there a ‘quid pro quo?’
“As I testified previously, with regard to the requested White House call and White House meeting, the answer is yes.”
Sondland implicated several key Trump administration officials, including Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Sondland claims the whole team was aware of Trump's attempts to press Ukraine into delivering political favors by digging up dirt on Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's son.
