Total Highspeed LLC this week hosted a broadband roundtable discussion with federal officials visiting its operation in Nixa.
In attendance Aug. 15 were Xochitl Torres Small, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's undersecretary for rural development; Kyle Wilkens, the USDA's Missouri state director for rural development; Total Highspeed leaders; and staff from both organizations, according to a news release.
Total Highspeed has been the recipient of nearly $90 million in USDA ReConnect funding to expand rural broadband in the area.
"Success is only achievable with partners like you," Torres Small told roundtable participants, according to the release. “High-speed internet connects people and businesses to new markets and helps people in rural America build brighter futures."
Earlier this month, Torres Small announced a fourth round of funding would be provided through the ReConnect program. The USDA will provide up to $700 million in grants, up to $300 million in loan/grant combinations and up to $150 million in loans.
The nonprofit moves into its new campus.
