The Mentors Project: Nathan Maulorico

MENTEE
Elvis Fritz, filmmaker, musician and freelancer

OBJECTIVE
Elvis is an exceptionally talented 14 year old. The objective is to prime him for the technical and political challenges he’ll face in the coming years, which will give him an advantage in Los Angeles, New York or wherever he decides to get his first job.

HOW
Time is spent with Elvis in home with one-on-one film production training as well as review and grading of the various projects he creates. Meetings also are held with Elvis and his parents to review future job directions and eventual connections in the industry.

RESULTS
Success and quality in the creative industry is extremely subjective. Although grading is done on a project basis, those grades are created through my personal opinions mixed with my experiences from other local and national television and film projects.

CHALLENGES
Access to the high-end equipment used in Hollywood as well as effectively communicating complicated industry structure and politics.

BREAKTHROUGHS
Elvis already has grown rapidly in the creative industry. He has started being paid for his musical talents and winning nominations for his short films.
