STL nonprofit founder faces indictment

The founder of a St. Louis nonprofit has been indicted on four counts of wire fraud.

Sister of Lavender Rose founder Cymone McClellan is accused in the indictment of allegedly lying on reports to obtain $2 million that was meant for meals for children and instead using the funds for personal expenses.

The indictment comes nearly two years after Sister of Lavender Rose was flagged by federal and state authorities for allegedly claiming federal funds for meals it did not provide.
