McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage has joined the BlueChoice HMO network.
"McCune-Brooks is a definite asset to the BlueChoice network that increases our accessibility and ability to provide care to our members in the Carthage area," said David Hill, provider contracting representative for BlueChoice, in a news release.
The 59-bed hospital offers a fully staffed emergency room and full range of surgical, specialty and diagnostic services, as well as inpatient and outpatient rehab and home health services.
"We're very happy to be part of the BlueChoice network," said Bob Copeland, interim CEO of McCune-Brooks, in the news release. "A lot of BlueChoice members in the area had to travel in order to get to a hospital in the network. Now they can stay home and still access a hospital in the BlueChoice network."
McCune-Brooks will be serving BlueChoice members through their affiliation with Freeman Managed Care, BlueChoice's partner in the Joplin area.
BlueChoice is the name under which HMO Missouri Inc. does business in Missouri.
The company is an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
