The Downtown Branson Betterment Association will sponsor Candlelight Christmas Nov. 13-15. During the holiday retail promotion, downtown streets and shops will be decorated Victorian-style, with some shopkeepers dressed like characters from Charles Dickens' novels.
Kids can visit Father Christmas at the Christmas and Toys store downtown, who will direct them to hands-on workshops for decorating, goodies and making home-made holiday decorations.
Through Dec. 21, shoppers can brighten the holidays for some area residents through the Giving Trees located at First Community Bank, Union Planters Bank, the DBBA office and the Branson/Tri-Lakes Daily News office in Hollister. Shoppers can take an ornament from one of the trees and bring back a gift for the person whose name is on the ornament. Gifts go to children in the Lake Country Boys and Girls Club and to elderly residents of two local nursing homes.
