Sapp Design Associates Architects PC added a second office.
The Springfield-based architecture firm recently expanded into Kansas City’s Crossroads Arts District, according to a news release provided by spokesman Ben Sapp.
Brad McKenzie, an employee of more than six years who most recently was assistant director of business operations, was tapped to lead the Kansas City office. He changed his LinkedIn profile to reflect the new role last month.
“The move for Sapp Design was one that had been driven by the firm’s past and present diverse workload in the Kansas City market and desire to expand our connection to the region,” the release reads.
Sapp Design’s recent projects in the Kansas City area include 36 public libraries for Mid-Continent Pubic Library through a $113 million bond issue, a library in Tonganoxie, Kansas, and a planned 60-acre municipal complex in the city of Grain Valley that’s designed with a new city hall, police station, library and recreation center.
With a current staff of 22 people, Sapp Design is planning more hires, according to the release.
Sapp Design ranked No. 3 on Springfield Business Journal’s annual list of the area’s largest architectural firms, published March 25. The company reported a $120 million market value of its 2018 projects.
With a focus on public and commercial architecture, Sapp Design was founded in 1986, according to the release.
