Wehr RV’s LLC is planning to occupy the building of the former Sky Zone indoor trampoline park.
A banner went up this week at 2765 S. Kansas Expressway for the recreational vehicle dealership, which General Manager Bronson Wehr said will be moving mid-April from 3199 W. Sunshine St. near West Bypass.
The Wehr family also owns businesses such as Wehr Construction LLC, Wehr Striping and Sealing LLC and Wehr Johnson Properties, according to Springfield Business Journal research. The Kansas Plaza shopping center, where the RV dealership is moving, is owned by Kansas Plaza 1 LLC, a Wehr family entity.
“We had an opening after Sky Zone was gone and it seemed to fit, so we thought it would be a great use for that building,” Wehr said.
Sky Zone was evicted from the building in December 2019 after Kansas Plaza 1 LLC won a judgement against Sky Zone franchisee Deny Gravity LLC in Greene County Circuit Court. The settlement over a breach of the lease agreement required the franchisee to pay nearly $120,500 and vacate the premises, according to past SBJ reporting. Wehr declined to comment on the eviction.
He said Wehr RV’s move would allow the company to become an indoor dealership with service and parts departments. He said some infill work is planned at the 19,000-square-foot building, but the company is awaiting permit approvals by the city and bids are still out for the project.
The RV dealership also operates a store in Mountain Grove, according to its website.
A franchise store of a Branson West-based quilting business made its Queen City debut; Grateful Vase launched in Lebanon; and Branson entertainment venue The Social Birdy had its grand opening.
