Russell Cellular breaks sales record

Posted online

Battlefield-based Russell Cellular Inc. in August produced its largest sales month in its 25-year history.

The Verizon Wireless partner broke its previous record set in June by 6,075 sales transactions for a total of nearly 72,000 recorded in August, said Jenn Darden, the company’s marketing manager.

The recent sales activity produced gross revenue of $52.8 million in August, Darden said, adding the company is on pace for $641.3 million in 2019 revenue. If the projection is hit, that would be a 51% increase over last year’s revenue.

“I am very proud of our entire team for pulling together and putting these kinds of numbers on the board,” said Jeff Russell, president and CEO, in the release. “Everyone worked extremely hard in presenting our opportunities to our customers and showing them the value of our product line. It’s a great sign of how our teams are operating and developing while we grow as a company.”

Russell pointed to a diverse product portfolio, distribution expansion and team member commitment to their record-breaking success.

In May, Russell Cellular was No. 2 on Springfield Business Journal’s Dynamic Dozen list of the fastest-growing companies with three-year revenue growth of 64% to $424.1 million in 2018.
