'Run Wild for Habitat' set for Sept. 19 at Table Rock

Mountain Country Habitat for Humanity will sponsor the fifth annual Run/Walk for Habitat Sept. 19, inviting participants from age 5 to 70-plus to "Run Wild for Habitat."

The event, co-sponsored by NatureGraphics, will be held at Table Rock State Park on south Highway 165.

The run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m. and registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

The running course is 3.1 miles of Ozarks lakeside trails, and the walking course is two miles long, according to a release from Mountain Country Habitat.

The cost to register is $12 in advance, $15 the day of the event. All paid entrants receive a limited printing of the "Run Wild" T-shirt, designed by Creating Printing and Design of Hollister.

Run entry age categories are ages 5 to 10 years; 11 to 17 years; 18 to 29 years; 30 to 39 years; 40 to 49 years; 50 to 59 years; 60 to 69 years; and 70 and over.

All first, second and third-place winners will receive medals created especially for the run by NatureGraphics, and trophies will be awarded to male and female masters over 40 and overall male and female first-place winners.

Timing for the runners is provided by Ozark Racing Systems.

Sponsors of the event include Golden Corral Family Restaurant and Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling of the Ozarks, who will provide refreshments and a "night on the town" for the person bringing in the most sponsors; KOMC-KRZK Hometown Radio; Branson Daily News; and Consolidated Media Systems Mid-West.
