A report by 24/7 Wall Street shows the poorest places in Missouri and other states.
24/7 Wall Street examined median annual household income in more than 2,600 cities, towns, villages and Census-designated places to find the poorest areas in the country.
Eastern Missouri town Fredericktown, with a population of around 4,000 people, is the poorest place in Missouri, according to the list.
The town's median household income is $24,640, compared with the state average of $51,542. Also, the poverty rate is 28.9%, compared with 14.6% at the state level.
