Anyone interested in learning more about Shannon County, Missouri should search YouTube for Missouri State University (former SMSU) Professor Emeritus Robert Flanders' Shannon County Documentary filmed more than 40 years ago, but would appear to be 80 years ago. There are two video in the series, "A Portrait of the Ozarks: Part 1: Shannon County-Home and Part 2: Shannon County-Hearts of the Children." Very enlightening and also very sad.
