Report: Greene County wages stagnant in Q3

Greene County's wages were flat in the third quarter of 2023, according to the latest federal government data released this week.

Average weekly wages were $1,054, unchanged from the same quarter in 2022, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in a news release.

With no year-to-year percentage change, Greene County ranked No. 170 among the 360 largest counties nationwide measured by the BLS.

Here are Missouri's largest counties, in order of third-quarter percent increase and wage growth rank nationally:
• St. Louis City (which operates as its own county), $1,442, up 2.7%, No. 14.
• Boone, $1,107, up 2.1%, No. 24.
• Jackson, $1,295, up 0.3%, No. 143.
• Greene, $1,054, flat, No. 170.
• St. Charles, $1,057, down 0.5%, No. 207.
• St. Louis, $1,336, down 1.3%, No. 277.
• Clay, $1,115, down 1.9%, No. 303.

Among the 360 largest counties nationwide, 169 had year-over-year increases in average weekly wages, according to the release.
