Makesha C. Brown, Ted A. Gordon, Amanda J. Jones and Carey D. Shoeneberg have joined Baird, Kurtz & Dobson, certified public accountants, as interns.
Brown is attending SMSU and will graduate with a BS in accounting in December 1999. Gordon, Jones and Shoeneberg attend the University of Missouri-Columbia, and each will graduate in May 2000 with masters of accounting degrees. The internship program at Baird, Kurtz & Dobson will allow them to gain full-time experience, complete their education and return to
the firm as staff accountants after graduation. As interns, Brown, Gordon, Jones and Shoeneberg will assist with general tax, audit and accounting engagements.
James R. Denton has joined Baird, Kurtz & Dobson as the director of marketing. He is a 1994 graduate of Evangel University with a BBA in marketing, accounting and management. Previously, Denton has held marketing and promotions positions locally with Noble & Associates, and with Crystal Cruises, with headquarters in Los Angeles. His new duties will include involvement with product development and integrated marketing and strategic planning for the firm.
Paula Millsap has been promoted to operations officer and facility manager at the Glen Isle location of Empire Bank. She has been with Empire Bank for 29 years. Millsap will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and management of facility staff.
Jay R. Mostyn, CPA, has been promoted to senior accountant at Elliott, Robinson & Co. He has been with the firm since 1995, and he received his master's degree in 1996 from SMSU. Mostyn's responsibilities as senior accountant will include supervisory duties and computerized accounting systems.[[In-content Ad]]
