Nixa today kick-started discussions to help officials prep the city’s next five-year plan.
Through a project called Imagine Nixa, city officials are asking residents to provide feedback for the strategic plan expected to launch this fall, according to a news release.
Referred to as a “communitywide brainstorm,” a luncheon held today is the first in a series of events planned through May 17 to get residents engaged in the planning process. The luncheon today is being held at Bridge Church in Nixa.
Imagine Nixa also includes this morning’s launch of a resident feedback website. Topics include vision and values; community safety; infrastructure; ways to make sure the government is high performing and that the economy is sustainable; and placemaking strategies. Officials also are asking residents to take a customer service survey.
Following the Imagine Nixa process ending in May, city officials plan to analyze ideas presented and develop recommendations. Nixa City Council is expected to review recommendations and adopt the city’s 2020-25 strategic plan this fall, with projects starting this year and continuing throughout the length of the plan, according to the website.
The Southwest Missouri Council of Governments recently told Springfield Business Journal that Nixa, along with Battlefield and Branson, are slated for comprehensive plan updates later this year.
A franchise store of a Branson West-based quilting business made its Queen City debut; Grateful Vase launched in Lebanon; and Branson entertainment venue The Social Birdy had its grand opening.
