The Missouri State University Board of Governors on Thursday is slated to vote on a contract extension for Provost John Jasinski.
President Clif Smart's extension offer to Jasinski is included among items slated for consideration by the board, according to its May 9 meeting agenda. If given board approval, Jasinski would remain provost at least through June 30, 2025.
The agenda has an April 22 offer by Smart to Jasinski, which he signed the same day. The offer includes an annual salary of $325,000.
"I can honestly think of no one better suited for this role and I know that the incoming president looks forward to working with you," Smart said in the offer.
Smart is scheduled to be succeeded as president this summer by Richard “Biff” Williams, whom the board selected earlier this year from a finalist pool that included Jasinski, according to past reporting.
Jasinski joined MSU in summer 2022, coming to the school from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.
