Missouri gas prices fell 7.4 cents per gallon during the past week, with the average price per gallon hitting $2.58 a gallon Oct. 24.
Current prices are 7.1 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. However, the average is 1.3 cents per gallon less than the same day in 2009, according to a MissouriGasPrices.com news release.
As of 10:40 a.m. Oct. 25, the lowest gas prices in the state, $2.41 a gallon, could be found in Carthage, at two Murphy USA and Conoco stations.
The state average sits 23 cents per gallon below the national average, which dropped 1.4 cents a gallon in the last week to $2.81 per gallon, the release said.
Additionally, the national average has increased 10.1 cents per gallon from last month and 13.8 cents per gallon from the same time last year.
