Minnesota businessman Irwin Jacobs and his wife, Alexandra, were found dead this week in their Orono home.
Media reports indicate Jacobs killed his wife and then himself.
Dennis Mathisen, a longtime business associate and friend of Jacobs, told the Star Tribune Alexandra had been in a wheelchair for the past year and was showing dementia signs.
Known by his nickname Irv the Liquidator, the 77-year-old Jacobs was known for buying and selling companies. His holdings previously included a stake in the Minnesota Vikings.
