Mercy Springfield Communities has opened its newest Springfield clinic.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held yesterday at 3530 W. Mount Vernon St., near a Walmart Neighborhood Market store along West Bypass.
“We anticipate welcoming 5,000 new patients to the clinic in the first year, which will expand patients’ access to primary care providers," said Charlene Rioux, Mercy vice president of operations and clinic administration, in a news release.
DeWitt & Associates Inc. served as general contractor for the $6 million, 11,000-square-foot clinic designed by Buf Studio LLC, according to past reporting. The health care system broke ground on the facility, dubbed Mercy West Springfield Multispecialty, in November 2022.
With 12 exam rooms, the clinic has outpatient therapy, primary care and occupational medicine services, according to the release.
"We don’t have another clinic nearby, so this will really help patients who want to receive health care where they live," Rioux said in the release.
The clinic began accepting patients yesterday.
