Kansas City-based Husch Blackwell Sanders is now just Husch Blackwell.
The more than 600 attorney law firm - which has an office in Springfield as well as others in Missouri, Tennessee, Illinois, Colorado, Nebraska, Arizona, Washington, D.C., and London - dropped the latter part of its name as part of a rebranding effort, said Joe Keenan, the firm's director of communications.
The systemwide change, enacted Aug. 30, will affect all of the firm's offices aesthetically - the company's letterhead will be changed as well as exterior and interior signage, he said.
The new name became lawfully official as of Sept. 3, according to the Missouri Secretary of State
Web site.
The change is an effort to streamline the name of the firm, which has typically been referred to as Husch Blackwell anyway, Keenan said.
"It'll be easier to say our name," he said. "We're very excited about the new brand, certainly the new logo that's coincided with the new Web site that we've launched with it as well."
The Web site, redesigned to reflect the name change and logo change, can be found
here.
Keenan said he couldn't disclose how much the firm has budgeted for the marketing campaign, but he said efforts to relay the change will be made through print advertisements, through its sponsorship with Kansas City public television station KCPT, through e-mails and through word of mouth.
The Springfield branch, located in Hammons Tower, 901 St. Louis St., employs about 64.
Springfield officials could not be reached for comment on the firm's rebranding efforts.[[In-content Ad]]
