Philadelphia-based discount chain Five Below Inc. (Nasdaq: FIVE) is adding a store in north Springfield.
The store at 2725 N. Kansas Expressway is scheduled to open June 7, a company customer relations spokesperson said via email.
Listing documents for the Super Center Plaza by Jared Commercial & Management LLC – the shopping center is owned by an LLC tied to the Jared family – show the Five Below store taking over the spot previously occupied by Buffalo Wild Wings. The 5,800-square-foot restaurant shuttered in 2019, according to past reporting.
Building permits filed with the city also have shown the Five Below in the works on the north side.
Five Below also operates Springfield stores at 3500 S. Glenstone Ave. in Primrose Marketplace and 3880 W. Washita St. in Springfield Plaza, as well as a location in Ozark in the Ozark Town Center, according to the company's website.
A franchise store of a Branson West-based quilting business made its Queen City debut; Grateful Vase launched in Lebanon; and Branson entertainment venue The Social Birdy had its grand opening.
