Dr. Sandra D. Byrd, professor of accounting at SMSU, received the 1998 National Woman of Achievement Award from the American Society of Women Accountants. Byrd has been with SMSU since 1984 and a professor of accounting since 1988.

Mike Morris, CLU, and Jerry Hunte, LUTCF, agents for the Morris Agency, attended the Lioness Network meeting, a professional forum of Kansas City Life Insurance Company's top producers, Oct. 1-3 in Kansas City.

Kenneth W. Boehne, of Boehne Financial Group, has qualified for membership in Putnam's 25th Annual Golden Scale Council. The council comprises investment professionals who have achieved the highest standards in serving investors during the previous year.

Stephen F. Schneider and Thomas D. Herrod have been named members of the 1998 Chairman's Council of New York Life Insurance Company.
