Evangel University has hired a new vice president for its Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.

Wade Mumm has been appointed vice president of AGTS and innovation, according to a news release issued yesterday.

Mumm, an Evangel alum, has served as the lead pastor of the bilingual Greeneway Church in Orlando, Florida, for more than 20 years. He's also an author, TV producer, educator and U.S. Army veteran.

As vice president of AGTS, Mumm said his first goal is to explore a fully Hispanic AGTS cohort on the campus of Greeneway Church, according to the release.

His hiring by Evangel came about after a task force co-chaired by President Mike Rakes and Terry Yancey, superintendent of the Kansas district of the Assemblies of God, recommended the installation of a vice president of AGTS to equip and resource leaders for practical ministry, officials say.

The task force was created in response to funding AGTS received from Lilly Endowment Inc., an Indianapolis-based private philanthropic foundation, according to Evangel's website.

As vice president of AGTS, Mumm succeeds Tim Hager, who stepped down in 2021 to take a role with North Central University, said Evangel spokesperson Erin Hedlun. The AGTS vice president is the leader of the seminary and reports directly to Rakes, Hedlun added.
