Meridian Structural Works is the structural engineer for the 6,000-square-foot special education addition for Willow Springs R-IV Schools. A series of ramps and corridors provide accessibility to five levels in existing buildings and connect a free-standing kindergarten building to the rest of the school. Dake Wells Architecture is the architect, and Olsson Associates Inc. is the civil and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. Three special education classrooms are added, as well as a secure entrance specifically for kindergarten and special-education students. Gentry Construction, based in Houston, Mo., is the general contractor for the project, which has an estimated cost of $535,000 and is funded by a bond issue.
