An opening date has been set for Springfield's first Crumbl Cookies eatery.
Franchisee Trevor Curtis said via email that a March 28 soft opening is planned, followed by a grand opening the next day at 2415 N. Glenstone Ave.
The grand opening event would include face painting and a DJ during the early evening hours, Curtis said.
The local franchisees, Trevor and Porter Curtis, initially targeted a spring 2023 opening. A corporate spokesperson in February told Springfield Business Journal that a late spring or early summer opening was in the works but could change "depending on construction times and supply chain."
The Crumbl Cookies store is slated to open in a retail building at Glenstone and Kearney Street that also houses Echelon Coffee and an AT&T store. The site is in front of the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel.
Crumbl Cookies has over 200 flavors of cookies, including milk chocolate chip, churro, blueberry muffin and Key lime pie, as well as a rotating menu, according to past reporting.
An existing franchisee of the company, Trevor Curtis early last year told SBJ that he "was super pumped" when the Springfield market came open.
"I used to cover Springfield in pharmaceutical sales way back when. Springfield is such a unique place. I love the atmosphere there," he said at the time.
A franchise store of a Branson West-based quilting business made its Queen City debut; Grateful Vase launched in Lebanon; and Branson entertainment venue The Social Birdy had its grand opening.
