CoxHealth to build clinic in Republic

CoxHealth is planning another "super clinic" – the latest in Republic.

KCI Construction Co. is serving as general contractor for the projected designed by BSA LifeStructures, said CoxHealth spokesperson Kaitlyn McConnell. The development has a $5 million budget, she said.

“We believe this super clinic will offer a greater level of care and convenience,” said Max Buetow, vice president of Cox Medical Group, in a news release. “As we get feedback from our patients, we know that having multiple services together can be a great benefit."

CoxHealth’s so-called super clinics refer to facilities with multiple types of health care. For instance, the Republic clinic is slated to offer primary care, extended hours for walk-in patients and physical therapy. The health care system has three similar clinics under construction in Monett, Nixa and Ozark.

The 15,000-square-foot, stand-alone clinic in Republic will be located along U.S. Highway 60 near the State Highway M intersection. McConnell said the building will be constructed on 2 acres CoxHealth owns at 3203 E. Old Stone Road.

Officials expect a 10-month construction timeline. The building will replace CoxHealth’s current clinic at 820 S. Illinois Ave. in Republic, according to the release.

The clinic joins a growing list of construction projects underway in Republic, including an Amazon warehouse and a Convoy of Hope distribution center.
