CoxHealth's first "super clinic" in Springfield is open for business.
The health care system's $13 million clinic at 3525 E. Battlefield Road spans 30,000 square feet.
Super clinic is a term used by the health system to refer to a facility with multiple types of care in one place. The CoxHealth East Battlefield Clinic, at the corner of U.S. Highway 65 and Battlefield Road, offers primary care, physical therapy, on-site radiology and lab services, and walk-in care for existing patients. Urgent care is slated to be added in the coming weeks, according to a news release.
“We are so excited to see this project come to completion and offer a new, convenient option for our patients,” said Brock Shamel, vice president of Cox Medical Group, in the release. “This latest super clinic offers one stop for a variety of services, which is something that we believe gives another layer of service and ease of access for the community when care is needed.”
The Springfield super clinic will be the third urgent care in Springfield for CoxHealth, and it will house medical practitioners formerly located in a National Avenue facility along the Medical Mile.
Similar super clinics have opened in the past year in Nixa, Ozark and Monett. In recent years, CoxHealth has been in development mode with tens of millions of dollars’ worth of clinics, according to past reporting.
