Aurora, Colo.-based H&H Management Group is in the planning stages to build a $10-$12 million, 60,000-square-foot SpringHill Suites by Marriott in north Springfield.
H&H Management owner Hamant Patel said the company purchased a vacant 7-acre parcel, 2025 E. Kerr St., for an undisclosed amount. According to Greene County assessor records, the land has a 2014 taxable appraised valuation of $494,000.
"We intend to start construction shortly, after the process is done with the permitting," Patel said, estimating a start date within three months for the 12-month project.
According to the plans, the four-story, 96-room hotel would front Interstate 44 on a stretch of road that includes Enactus headquarters and a Cracker Barrel restaurant. Patel said the bidding process for a general contractor hasn't begun but noted it may be a Missouri firm.
For its first Missouri venture, H&H Management is partnering with Joplin hotel owner A.J. Nursariwala, who operates a La Quinta Inns & Suites and a Days Inn.
"It's because of the knowledge A.J. has in the Missouri market," Patel said of the choice of Springfield. "He basically invited us to participate with him."
H&H Management owns five hotels, all in Colorado, Patel said.[[In-content Ad]]
