BP to quit Alaska after 60 years

Oil giant BP is exiting Alaska after 60 years operating in the state.

The company agreed to sell its Alaskan properties to Hilcorp Energy Co. for $5.6 billion.

The deal includes the 800-mile Trans Alaska Pipeline and interest in Prudhoe Bay, the most prolific oil field in U.S. history, according to Reuters.
