2021 40 Under 40: Lauren Holder

Owner, Social Media by Lauren

Posted online

While operating her own social media marketing business, Lauren Holder isn’t staying in one place. Currently pursuing a master’s degree in clinical mental health, Holder already is preparing for a second career at the age of 30 as a licensed professional counselor. But that won’t be the end of her work in marketing.

“I have such a heart for this community and a drive to support the people who make this city so amazing. I am not afraid to follow my passions in whatever direction they take me,” she says.

Holder is also president-elect for the local chapter of the Association of Women in Communications, and has served on other local nonprofit boards and committees.

How do you make the Ozarks better? As I work toward becoming a multiculturally competent counselor, I will continue to seek out opportunities to educate myself and support our community’s efforts to be more equitable and diverse.

What did you learn the hard way? Get your money up front!

Best piece of advice you’ve ever received? You don’t have to answer the phone or respond right away.

Theme song? “Armor” by Sara Bareilles.

What historical figure do you identify with most? Margaret Sanger. She saw injustice and suffering in her work as a nurse with regard to access to contraceptives and sought ways to advocate for change. I can see myself doing that with infertility and mental health awareness.
