1998 Annual Project Report

Slone Architects Inc.

Retail Center. Located at Highways 16 and 14 in Nixa, this project, for owner Dick Pendleton, is a retail shell building with 20,400 square feet of leasable space. Slone Architects is the architect on the project.

Twin Oaks Office Park. Building E and Building F of the Twin Oaks Office Park comprise this project, designed by Slone Architects. The facilities are both 10,000-square-foot shell office condominiums. Mo Do Co Inc. is the contractor on the project, slated for completion this fall.

Hometown Bank. Located in Carthage and in Joplin, these two, one-story, 5,200-square-foot banking facilities are owned by Hometown Bankshares and are designed by Slone Architects. G&G Construction is the contractor on the project, and the banks are slated for completion in fall 1998 and spring 1999, respectively.

Surrey Vacation Resort, Building B. Branson is the site of this project, designed by Slone Architects and contracted to L&J Consolidated Contractors Inc. The five-story, 15-unit condominium residence is valued at $2.6 million and has an estimated completion date of spring 1999. Surrey Vacation Resorts Inc. is the owner of the project.

Falls Village Resort. This 11,400-square-foot, two-story sales headquarters for Falls Village owner Blue Green Corp. is valued at $749,000 and slated for completion in spring 1999. MECO Systems is the contractor on the project, and Slone Architects is the designer.

Republic Ford Addition. Bob Beine is the owner of this 15,000-square-foot service addition and 1,600-square-foot parts warehouse addition to Republic Ford. Howard Bailey Co. is the contractor on the project, slated for completion in winter 1999, and Slone Architects is the architect.

Holiday Inn Express. Located in Lebanon, this three-story, 60-unit motel with indoor pool is owned by Amrat Patel and designed by Slone Architects. Myers Construction is the contractor on the job, which is valued at $1.62 million and slated for completion in spring 1999.

Bank of Kimberling City. A 3,000-square-foot branch banking facility, located in Hollister, this project is designed by Slone Architects and has an estimated completion date of spring 1999. The contractor has not yet been chosen for this project.

Addition to Sleep Inn. This Tristar Hotels LLC project is a 40-unit addition to an existing Sleep Inn Motel. Designed by Slone Architects, the project is being built by Howard Bailey Co. Valued at $1.08 million, the addition has an estimated completion date of spring 1999.

Comfort Inn. Located in St. Roberts, the Ehrhardt Development project is a 70-unit motel valued at $1.94 million and slated for completion in spring 1999. Slone Architects is the designer on the project, and Thomas Construction is the contractor.

Addition to Maries County Bank. This 2,000-square-foot addition on the second floor of an existing facility in Vienna, Mo., will provide space for expanded loan and trust departments. Designed by Slone Architects, the project is being built by Federal Construction with an estimated completion date of winter 1999.

P.G. Walker Warehouse/Office. A single-story, 15,000-square-foot warehouse with a 4,000-square-foot office wing, this project is valued at $690,000 and has an estimated completion date of summer 1999. Slone architects is the designer for the facility, which is a metal building with EIFS finishes on the exterior of the office portion.

Warren & Goodin Inc.

Plaza Shopping Center. Located in Kimberling City, this project encompasses the replacement of office and retail space damaged by fire. Owned by the Country Club Plaza of Kimberling City, the project is valued at $1.25 million and has an estimated completion date of 1999. Melvin M. Moore is the architect on the project, and a contractor has not yet been selected.

Richland Housing Authority. This $332,000 project in Richland entails the renovation of siding and fencing for existing apartments owned by the Richland Housing Authority. Melvin M. Moore is the architect on the project, and the contractor is Redd's Construction. The estimated completion date is 1999.

Elwood Heights Apartments. J.E. Baldwin, AIT, is the designer for this project, located in Elwood, Kan. The 48-unit apartment complex, valued at $1.75 million, is being constructed by Cunningham Construction and has an estimated completion date of 1999.

Edmonton Resort. This Feather International project, located in Edmonton, Alberta, is a new hotel valued at $3 million. Melvin M. Moore is the architect, and a contractor has not yet been selected. The project has an estimated completion date of 2000.

Headstart Schools. Classrooms for the Ozarks Area Community Action Coalition Headstart program in Nixa, Branson and Cassville make up this project, owned by Grayfield Investments. Bill Howard is the architect on the project, and Miller Construction is the contractor. Valued at $600,000, the project is slated for completion before the end of 1998.

Emerald Resort. Located in George-town, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, this project involves the renovation of a resort, golf course and villas for owner Feather International. Materials for the project will be purchased in the United States, containerized in Florida and shipped to the site. Melvin M. Moore is the architect for the $1.5 million project, slated for completion in 1999. A contractor has not yet been selected.

Walnut Street Christian Church. This $68,000 fellowship hall renovation was designed by architect Bill Howard. Johnson Company is the contractor for the construction, slated for completion before the end of 1998.

Haseltine Road Headstart. This new classroom building for OACAC Headstart is owned by Headstart Partnership and designed by architect Bill Howard. Valued at $500,000, the project is being built by Hoke Construction and is estimated to be complete before the end of 1998.

Osawatomie Heights Phase II. Cunningham Development is the owner of this 36-unit apartment complex, to be located in Osawatomie, Kan. J.E. Baldwin, AIT, is the designer for the project, and Cunningham Construction is the contractor. Slated for completion in 1999, this phase of the apartment development is valued at $1.25 million.

Elwood Park Housing. J.E. Baldwin, AIT, is the designer for this project, a 25-unit single-family housing development in Elwood, Kan. Cunningham Development is the owner, and the contractor is Cunningham Construction. Valued at $2.5 million, the project is slated for completion in 1999.

Webb & Associates Architects

New Ethan Allen Furniture Store. Ben L.E. Webb, NCARB, AIA, is the architect on this project, located at the Battlefield Mall. Valued at $850,000, the project includes remodeling of the old Century 21 movie theater into a 12,500-square-foot, one-story furniture store with administrative mezzanine. Charles C. Brandt Inc. is the contractor on the project, owned by Ethan Allen Inc. and the Simon DeBartolo Group. It is slated for completion by Oct. 28, 1998.

& Associates, Architects, PC

Ferrell Duncan Clinic Addition. A 72,000-square-foot, five-story addition to the existing clinic at 1001 E. Primrose, plus renovation of the first and third floors make up this project. Features include new exam rooms, procedure rooms, doctors' offices, X-ray and lab expansion and renovation. Design elements include a new glass entrance and an open, circular area between the first and second floors in the main lobby. Sam Winn is the project architect, and DeWitt & Associates is the contractor. Valued at $5.8 million, this project has an estimated completion date of June 2000.

McBride Elementary School. A new, 36,400-square-foot elementary school serving grades K-five, this facility was

completed in July 1998. Located at Weaver and Golden, the school includes a multipurpose room, media center with computer lab, full-service kitchen and outdoor play areas. Gary Barbee was the architect on the project, and R.E. Smith Construction, of Joplin, was the contractor. Owned by the Springfield R-XII School District, the project is valued at $2.4 million.

Showroom Addition to United Machinery & Supply. Located at 2315 E. Chestnut Expwy., this project is an approximately 3,000-square-foot, single-story showroom addition to display industrial equipment and designed to coexist with the current structure. Ken Hamilton is the designer on the project, and Nesbitt Construction is the contractor. Owned by Robert Reynolds, this $162,000 project is slated for completion in January 1999.

New Pleasant Hope R-VI Middle School. A new, 42,000-square-foot, single-story middle school for the R-VI School District, this project is valued at $2.1 million and was completed in June. Gary Barbee served as project architect, and the contractor was Joplin Construction Design and Management. Features of the new middle school include science labs, a music and band department, a full-size gymnasium with telescoping bleachers, locker rooms and a full-service kitchen.

The Wischmeyer Architects

Signature Bank Branch Banking Facility. This 5,300-square-foot banking facility is designed to provide a unique and identifiable brand image for Signature Bank, positioning it to stand out visually among the competition. The dominant physical feature is a two-story banking lobby, reminiscent of the banking halls built at the turn of the century. Located at Sunshine and Ventura, the facility has a completion date of early summer 1999. Robert Stockdale, AIA, is the project architect.
