Winemaker sentenced to prison for college admissions scheme

Posted online

Winemaker Agustin Huneeus was sentenced to five months in prison for his part in a national college admissions scandal.

Huneeus admitted to agreeing to pay $300,000 to Rick Singer, the admissions scheme's mastermind, to have someone cheat on his daughter's college entrance test. The payment also called on his daughter to be falsely tagged as a water polo athlete to get into the University of Southern California.

Huneeus is the only parent in the scandal who has admitted to taking part in two schemes to get his daughter into college.
